 With a long-standing passion for reading, Founder of award-winning The Butterfly Pre-School and mother to 3 boys, Charlotte Butterfill, better known as Mrs Charlotte welcomes you to Fireplace Story; a place to settle in and discover the magic of books and reading.

Having founded London-based The Butterfly Pre-School back in 2012 and still very much a part of the daily hands-on teaching team, Charlotte has first-hand experience of working with children and their developmental needs. 

Together with co-founder of Fireplace Story, Emma Yates, and between them 5 children under the age of 11, the busy days are always finished together with cherished story time - a time to stop, connect and get lost in a world of imagination and discovery. 

‘Reading is hugely important as it leads to all other learning areas.’ Says Emma; ‘The richer their vocabulary at pre-school age, the greater their confidence in learning at school age.’ Says Charlotte

A key and differentiating factor that Fireplace Story prides itself on is that the stories that are read are unknown to the larger publishers or have been self-published; hidden gems that are awaiting their audience thanks to Charlotte’s knowledge and expertise.

Fireplace Story is a destination for ages 6 and under to begin with. A place where little eyes and minds can be transported into the magical moment of the books which are all read by Mrs Charlotte - the kind and familiar face whose aim is not only to become a learning tool but a place where little ones can go when in need of downtime, a moment of calm, a go-to tool for those busy parenting moments. Whatever the moment, Mrs Charlotte is there.

A library of books awaits with a new book uploaded every week with their own activity sheets meaning no one is ever without a story or activity when they need one.
